Katina Peters became a shareholder of Tompkins & Peters CPAs, P.C. in 2001 after having been a valuable part of the Tompkins & Peters CPAs, P.C. team since 1995. Her experience in tax, financial statements and consulting allows Katina to focus on managing the Accounting & Auditing department of Tompkins & Peters CPAs, P.C. Her training and experience in auditing has made her a recognized Yellow Book professional in the area of Nonprofit audits as well as Governmental Audits (including A-133 compliance and HUD). Katina has the in-depth experience in accounting, auditing and accounting system support to work closely with clients to provide timely management information and advisory services.
Katina is also a Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor. This certification is recognition of Katina's technical knowledge and ability to support clients in the design, implementation and maintenance of an accounting system that meets their particular needs. She is also a leader in identifying the most advanced technological resources available to assist in enhancing client productivity and services. Katina's experience in accounting is complemented with extensive knowledge and experience in the area of tax, allowing her to provide tax preparation as well as planning services to our clients.
Katina is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Nevada Society of Certified Public Accountants (NSCPA) and the Montana Society of Public Accountants (MSCPA). Katina also represents Tompkins & Peters CPAs, P.C. in the Henderson & Las Vegas Chambers of Commerce and the Missoula, Montana Chamber of Commerce, the Government Affairs Committee for the Associated General Contractors (AGC), and ROTARY. She is a Board Member for the Nevada Association of Nonprofit Organizations (NANO) and the Secretary/Treasurer for the local Business Networks International (BNI) group.
Katina received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting in 1999 from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Katina passed the CPA exam in 2001, ranking seventh in the state of Nevada. She is a practicing CPA licensed in Nevada (CPA#3615) and Montana (CPA#5111). Katina and her husband enjoy spending time with family and the performing arts.
