Mileage Rates
The standard mileage rate for business driving in 2008 is 50.5 cents per mile, and the mileage rate for medical and moving expenses is 19 cents per mile.

Simple Contributions
The Simple Contribution limit increases to $10,500; the amount those 50 and older can contribute increases an extra $2,500.

IRA Contribution
The IRA contribution limit increases to $5,000 for those under 50 and increases to $6,000 for those over 50.

Estate Tax
The estate tax exemption remains at $2 million, but the top estate tax rate drops to 45%. The annual gift tax exclusion remains at $12,000.

Wages and SS Tax
The amount of wages subject to social security tax increases to $102,000. Retirees under age 65 can earn $13,560 in 2008 without losing benefits.
